Explanation

Split the triangle into 2 equal halves via the middle.

You will then have 4 as the bottom side of each of the 2 triangles.

Using Pythagorean’s theorem,

8^2 - 4^2 = 48

Square root 48 = 6.93~

6.93 = h

Area of triangle = b • h / 2

We know b = 8 and now we know h = 6.93

8 • 6.93 / 2 = 27.72
