This answer makes a lot of use of supplementary angles. Because of it <GFE is 180 - 4x and <GEF is 180 - 2x. Then, because there are 180 degrees in a triangle you can determine that:

180 - 2x + 180 - 4x + x = 180

360 - 6x = 180

-6x = -180

x = 30
