Explanation:

q = quarters, d = dimes, n = nickels

n = d - 5

q = 2d

.25q + .10d + .05n = 7.55

Plug in the first 2 equations into the third one

.5d + .10d + .05(d - 5) = 7.55

Open up the Parenthesis

.5d + .10d + .5d - .25 = 7.55

Combine Like Terms

.2d - .25 = 7.55-->

.2d = 7.8 -->

d = 39 -->

n = 39 - 5 = 34

q = 2(39) = 78
