Let the amount of money Ajay has now = X

Let the amount of money Ragu has now = Y

Ajay said if Ragu lends him 5 rupees, both of them will have the same amount of money, therefore, we have;

X + 5 = Y - 5.....................(1)

Y = X + 5 + 5 = X + 10.......(2)

Ragu said if Ajay lends him 5 rupees, he would have five times the amount of money left with Ajay, therefore, we have;

Y + 5 = 5 × (X - 5) = 5·X - 25

Y + 5 = 5·X - 25 ................(3)

Y = 5·X - 25 - 5 = 5·X - 30......(4)

Therefore we have;

X + 10 = 5·X - 30

10 + 30 = 5·X - X

40 = 4·X

X = 40/4 = 10 rupees

Y = X + 10 = 10 + 10 = 20 rupees

Which gives;

The amount of money Ajay has now = 10 rupees

The amount of money Ragu has now = 20 rupees.
