A student measured the volume of gas produced in 30 seconds from a

reaction between 2g of magnesium and 20cm' of 2 mol/dm hydrochloric
acid. The student repeated the experiment 5 times and the volumes
collected (cm) were: 13.5, 13.1. 17.5, 13.7 and 13.0. Calculate the mean,
discounting any anomalies.

Answer:

\boxed{Mean = 14.16}

Explanation:

Observation = 13.5, 13.1, 17.5, 13.7, 13.0

No. of Observations = 5

=> Mean =
(SumOfObservations)/(NumberOfObservations)

=> Mean =
(13.5+13.1+17.5+13.7+13.0)/(5)

=> Mean =
(70.8)/(5)

=> Mean = 14.16
