1. At a speed of 80km/h, it takes 10hrs to travel between Abuja and Lagos. How long will it takes to cover the same distance at the speed of 100km/h?

2. A swimming pool takes 36hrs to fill using three identical pumps. If the pool needs to be filled in 9hours, how many pump will be needed? Please I need my answer ASAP

Answer:

1) 8 hours

2) 12 pumps

Explanation:

1)

Distance travelled=800 km

Because if you use the speed distance time triangle, 80*10=800

We can then use this to find out how long it would take to travel it at a different speed.

800km/100=8 so it takes 8 hours

2)

36*3=108 so if there was only one pump, it would take 108 hours to fill the pool.

108/9=12 so you would need 12 pumps

800÷100=8

it will take 8 hours

2. with 3 pumps it takes 36 hours. you need to be 4 times quicker so you need 4 times more pumps.

4×3=12 pumps
