The two systems represented in the problem is

  1. buying CDs from the store
  2. and buying the CDs online

This means we need to create separate equations for these separate systems!

____________________________________

Let's create an equation for the first system

y will represent the total price the customer pays

x will represent the # of CDs bought!

[ y = 15x is our equation! ]

Let's do the second system

we will make sure the variables represent the same thing as they did in the first equation we made

[ y = 13.99x + 6 ]

*remember shipping is a constant in the problem, it doesn't change. So, we don't need to pair the number '6' with a variable.

I hope I helped! Comment if you have any questions or concerns!
