And, the leg has 2x + 4

Based on the above information, the length of the triangle other leg is

Let us assume

y = other leg lengths

So, the area of a triangle =
= (1)/(2) * b* h

Now


x^2 - 4 = (1)/(2) (2x+4)y


(x-2)(x+2) = (1)/(2) 2(x+2)y

So,

(x-2)(x+2) = (x+2)y

And, finally

x - 2 = y

Therefore the length of other leg is x - 2 units
