Start with the slope formula.
y2 - y1/x2 - x1
We take the second y minus the first y
over the second x minus the first x.
So we have -2 - 2/4 - 0.
Simplifying from here, we have -4/4.
This reduces to -1.
So the slope of the line is -1.
