Option 2

Would you rather take Route A or Route B to reach your final
destination? Mathematically, use length to explain your choice. If there
are calculations, include those in your explanation (hint: if you want to
use calculations, make some numbers up)

Answer: I would choose Route B

Explanation: Let’s assume the circle in route A is equal to 100m then half of it would be 50m

For route B: First let’s find the diameter
d=circumference/pi
d=100/3.14 is approximately 32m

Now let’s look at the extra road to complete the destination:

Judging by the photo, I would cut the circle into 4 pieces and take one piece to look at. You can see that the extra road is 1/3 of the 1 piece.

Since the perimeter is 100m (assumption) so 1/4 of it will be 25m
And since the extra road is 1/3 of the 1 piece it means that it’s 1/3 of 25m

1/3 x 25 is approximately 8 and since there are 2 extra road 8 x 2=16m

Now we add the diameter with the extra we get 32+16=48m

And route B is shorter than route A by 2m so I would choose route B.
