Answer: (x-6)(3x+2)

Explanation:

3x^(2) -16x -12 Find two numbers that multiply to -36 and add up to get -16

-18 and 2 works out.

3x^(2) - 18x +2x - 12 Now group it

(3
x^(2) -18x) ( 2x - 12) factor it out

3x( x -6) 2(x-6) factor out x-6

(x-6)(3x+2)

Answer:

(x-6)(3x+2)

solution,

3 {x}^(2) - 16x - 12 \\ = 3 {x}^(2) - (18 - 2)x - 12 \\ = 3 {x}^(2) - 18x + 2x - 12 \\ = 3x(x - 6) + 2(x - 6) \\ = (x - 6)(3x </strong><strong>+</strong><strong> 2)

Hope this helps..

Good luck on your assignment..
