200 students attend a school which offers French and History.

10% of those who take History also take French and 4 times as many students take History as take French.
8% of the students take neither History or French.
By drawing a Venn Diagram find the number of students who take French.

Let's call the amount of French students x. Therefore the amount of students who take History is 4x and the amount of students who take both is 10% * 4x = 0.4x. To find x we can write:

(x + 4x) - 0.4x = 184

4.6x = 184

x = 40 so the answer is 40.
