Step-by-step explanation:

Empires inspire the creation of wars due to their ability to unite a group of people and form nationalistic tendencies. Countries who turn into empires will at some point find it crucial to advance their ideals and demonstrate their power over other nations, which can cause distention and thus lead to further strife and tension as they overstep boundaries that were established between other empires who do not agree with their philosophy or way of life. The alliances did contribute to the start of the first war, because the rest of the world felt threatened by the formation of an even greater powerhouse of countries which were already working to build up a greatly powerful military system that could overpower their own militaries by themselves alone.
