Answer:

Explanation:

hello,

we can assume that the table is a rectangle

so let's note x , y its length and width, we can write

(1 ) 2(x+y)=16

(2) xy=12

x and y are different from 0 and from (2) we can write

y =12/x we replace it in (1)

x+12/x=16/2=8

<=> x^2+12=8x\\<=> x^2-8x+12 = 0\\<=> x^2 -2x-6x+12=0\\<=> x(x-2)-6(x-2)=0\\<=> (x-6)(x-2)=0\\<=> x = 6 \ \ or \ \ x=2

for x = 6 y = 2

for x = 2 y = 6

so the dimensions of the table is 2ft x 6ft

hope this helps

Answer:

2 and 6

Explanation:

Well if the are is 12ft^2 and the perimeter is 16 ft then the length is 6 ft and the width is 2 ft.

So 6+6+2+2=16

6*2 is 12
