A bottle contains 1.4 l of water. A second bottle contains 270 ml of water. What is the total number of ml of water in both bottles?

Explanation:

First, you have to convert litre to mililitres by multiplying it by 1000 :


1l = 1000ml


1l * 1.4 = 1000ml * 1.4


1.4l = 1400ml

Next, you have to add up both bottles together :


1st \: \: bottle = 1400ml


2nd \: \: bottle = 270ml


total = 1400 + 270 = 1670ml
