The new perimeter will be 3 times the old perimeter.

Original perimeter:
2(8+7) = 2(15) = 30 yds

New perimeter once they are tripled:
3 x 8 = 24
3 x 7 = 21
2(24+21) = 2(45) = 90 yds

30 x 3 = 90
