The surface area of a cone is given by the formula S = πl + πr2. Solve the formula for l.

This is how I figured it out so I don't know if it's the way.

So the formula is S= πl + πr squared

If you were trying to find l then you would start with l =

Then S and since S does not already have π next to it then we need to divide π and s so then it would look like

l = S/π

Next since in the original formula they added then you subtract to find L

l = S/π -

Then just add r squared.

l = S/π - r squared

I don't know if my logic makes sense to you, but it really helped me out so. You welcome!

Answer: l=(S-πr²)/π

Explanation:

To solve for l, we use our algebraic rules to get l alone.

S=πl+πr² [subtract πr² on both sides]

S-πr²=πl [divide both sides by π]

(S-πr²)/π=l
