A 17 metre tall tree casts a shadow that is 20 metres long. What angle, to the nearest degree, does the sun make with the ground

Explanation:

since 17 m is one leg, and 20m is the hypotenuse, we can write:

cos (x) = 17/20

x = cos-1(17/20)

x is about 32º
