The sets of numbers 7,24,25 and 9,40,41 are Pythagorean triples. Use what you know about the Pythagorean Theorem and explain or show why they are Pythagorean triples. Be sure to show your work for each set of triples

Answer: See Explanation

Explanation:

Pythagoras' theorem is
a^(2) +
b^(2) =
c^(2).

So
7^(2) (49) +
24^(2) (576) =
25^(2) (625)

Same goes for the other one. It is always the smallest number squared (smallest side of triangle) + the middle number squared (middle length side of triangle, = the biggest side/number squared.

Answer:

Pythagorean Theorem: a² + b² = c²

Explanation:

7-24-25

7² + 24² = 25²

49 + 576 = 625

625 = 625

9-40-41

9² + 40² = 41²

81 + 1600 = 1681

1681 = 1681
