Answer:

Ethnocentrism is a normal reaction in taken pride in the success of your ethnicity but destructive when taken too far as to want to destroy other perceived lesser ethnic group.

Step-by-step explanation:

Ethnocentrism is the belief in the superiority of one's culture over others. Ethnocentrism is associated with the pride of falling into a particular culture, and is a learned behavior passed down from parents and society to the young ones among them. Ethnocentrism can be considered a normal reaction, when one finds oneself as a member a group that seems to have excelled in a particular way of life. Example is the feeling of pride that comes with your country winning the FIFA world cup; and its only natural to demonstrate ethnocentric characteristics in this case. A destructive effect of ethnocentrism can be demonstrated through genocide; in which a particular ethnicity rises up to destroy violently another perceived lesser ethnic group. This wrong ethnocentric drive has been a reason for the loss of millions of life globally.
