N= -7
Use distributive property to get -40n+8n=-96
Then add 40 to both sides to get to 8n=-96
The divide both sides by 8 to get -7
Hope this helps!

Answer:

n=-7

Solution,

- 8(5 - n) = - 96 \\ or \: - 40 + 8n = - 96 \\ or \: 8n = - 96 + 40 \\ or \: 8n = - 56 \\ or \: n = ( - 56)/(8) \\ n = - 7

hope this helps...

Good luck on your assignment..
