The ratio of male to female players in Belfort Tennis Club is 3:5.

The club has a total of 240 players.
In the mixed doubles one male player partners one female player.
How many female players will not have a male partner?

First of all, to find the ratio of male to female players you need to add the 5 and the 3 to get 8
You then need to divide 240 by 8 to get 30
You then multiply 30 by 3 to get 90 and 30 by 5 to get 150 respectively
The number of male players is 90 and female players is 150
You then do 150-90 which is 60
There is 60 females without male partners
