to solve, we just need to plug all values of x into 5 as shown

f(x) = 3x + 2
f(5) = (3*5) + 2

then following the format of PEMDAS (explained at footer) we solve the new equation

f(5) = (3*5) + 2
f(5) = 15 + 2
f(5) = 17

therefor F(5) is equal to 17
