Answer:

Odysseus or Ulysses, the main character of the epic poem "The Odyssey" by Homer, has several of the characteristics typical of epic heroes. Epic heroes are usually of noble birth. They are famous for being skillful fighters and warriors, who are loyal to a cause. Yet, their loyalty does not serve as an excuse to act in inappropriate ways. The end does not justify the means for epic heroes, meaning they will remain just, fair. Justice is, as a matter of fact, what they fight for. Glory is just a consequence of it, although some may desire glory. Odysseus is of noble birth. He is a skillful warrior, who also happens to be extremely witty. He is loyal to his cause. However, Odysseus presents some imperfections. Unlike other heroes, he is willing to use unfair means to achieve his goals. Since he is very witty, he can easily fool others to save himself. Although he does fight for justice, he is willing to do it in an unjust way, even though it may sound contradictory to us. Still, he is a hero. Every epic hero has a human flaw, as that is Odysseus's flaw.
