Can the square root of a rational number be irrational?

You better believe it ! In fact, if you don't count an infinite number of examples, you'll find that MOST of their square roots are irrational.

Let's examine the smallest 1,000 integers . . .

-- They're all rational numbers, but ...

-- only 31 of them have rational square roots !

Yes. Some examples are √2, √3, √5.
