4) Members of the school band are buying bouquets of flowers to sell at the fundraiser.

They plan on buying 120 bouquets of flowers. The ratio of the number of bouquets of roses to the number of bouquets of sunflowers will be 5/3. How many bouquets of flowers did they buy?

Answer: Roses= 75, Sunflowers= 45

Explanation:

Add the ratios- 5 + 3 = 8

Divide the total by the sum = 120 ÷ 8 = 15

Multiply the ratios- 5 x 15 = 75 and 5 x 3 = 45

∴ 5:3 = 75 , 45
