Answer (if the number is 10 3/8):

83/8

Explanation:

to find out we multiply the whole number (10) by the denominator (x/8) as shown below

10 * 8 = 80

then we just add the product to the numerator (3/y)

3 + 80 = 83

usually we would simplify the new expresion given -wich is 83/8- by finding the least common denominator, however this improper fraction is already in simplest form

So the answer is that 10 3/8 as a decimal is 10.375.

We convert it to an improper fraction which, in this case, is 83/8 and then we divide the new numerator (83) by the denominator to get our answer.
