Answer:

AC= 5.05 or just 5

Explanation:

The first step to finding AC is finding AD.

And to find AD we have to use 3.8 and 6.8.

So first using the Pythagorean Theorem which is
a^2+b^2=c^2.

In this case we are trying to find a which is a leg.

So knowing b and c we plug those in and this is what we get
a^2+(3.8)^2=(6.8)^2 so now we do 3.8 squared which is 14.44 and 6.8 squared which is 46.24. So now to simplify it.

So our equation right now looks like this ->
a^2+14.44=46.24 To simplify this we subtract 14.44 from 46.24 and we get 31.8.

Now we can still simplify it even more by taking away that square on the a.

We can so that by finding the square root of a and 31.8.

The square root of a is a and the square root of 31.8 is 5.6 rounded to the nearest tenth. so now that we know AD which is 5.6 we can find AC.

5.6 is the hypotenuse and 2.5 is a leg so right now we are trying to find AC which is another leg. So using the Pythagorean Theorum we can plug all the numbers in the equation or formula.
(2.5)^2+b^2=(5.6)^2. So Simplyfying 2.5 and 5.6 we get.
6.25+b^2=31.8 we will make it 31.8 instead of 31.36 because that was the original one. So 31.8-6.25 is 25.55. And 25.55’s square root is about 5.05 rounded to the nearest hundredth.
