Hey there!

Answer:

25.1 units.

Explanation:

Calculate the lengths of sides AB, BC and AC. Use the distance formula:
d = √((x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2)

Solving for AB:

d = √((4 -(-4))^2 + (5-(-1))^2)

d = √(8^2 + 6^2)

d = √(100)

AB = 10

Solving for BC:

This side is a vertical line, meaning simply find the difference of y values between each endpoint.

5-(-2) = 7

BC = 7

Solving for AC:

d = √((4-(-4))^2 + (-2-(-1))^2)

d = √((8)^2 + (-1)^2)

d = √(65)

d≈ 8.06 units

Add up all of the side lengths:

10 + 7 + 8.06 = 25.06 ≈ 25.1 units.
