a circular flower bed is 20 meters in diameter and has a circular sidewalk around it that is 3 meters wide . find the area of the sidewalk in square meters . use 3.14 for pie. and round to the nearest whole number

this is two circles, one inside the other, circles have an area of pi*
r^(2) the flower bed is 20 meters in diameter or 10 meters in radius.

flower bed Area = 3.14*
10^(2)

flower bed Area = 314
m^(2)

circle of sidewalk adds 3 meters

sidewalk circle area = 3.14*
13^(2)

sidewalk circle area = 530.66

subtract the flower bed area from the sidewalk area, and you have just the walk way it self.

530.66 - 314 = 216.66
m^(2) for the sidewalk only
