The pom-pom squad is looking for a dance camp to attend over the summer. The

cost of a camp at ECU in Ada, Oklahoma is $625 plus $12 per dance student.
The camp at SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma is $754 plus $9 per dance
student. Write a function for the cost of each camp. For what number of dancers
would the cost be the same at either camp?

Answer:

Explanation:

Let X be the cost of a camp and y the number of dance students.

ECU: X = $625 + $12y

SWOSU: X = $754 + $9y

Set the equations equal to each other and calculate y, the number of dancers that for which the camp costs would be the same:

$625 + $12y = $754 + $9y

$3y = $129

y = 43 dancers
