I just wanted to say that the person who wrote the actual answer is a life saver and that answer is very correct :)

Answer: Area = 26π + 20 cm²

Explanation:

There are 2 large semicircles = 1 large circle

There are 2 small semicircles = 1 small circle

There is 1 rectangle.

Find the Area of each shape above and then find their sum.

1) Large Circle: A = πr², d = 10 --> r = 10/2 = 5

A = π(5)²

= 25π

2) Small Circle: A = πr² , d = 2 --> r = 2/2 = 1

A = π(1)²

= π

3) Rectangle: A = length × width, L = 10 w = 2

A = 10 × 2

= 20

Total = Large + Small + Rectangle

= 25π + π + 20

= 26π + 20
