The atmosphere mainly contains air which is a bad conductor of heat. In this way atmosphere act as a blanket. The lithosphere is the crust and upper mantle if a planet, including all the solid matter from mountains to valleys to tectonic plats underneath. The biosphere is the life of and ecology of a planet.
