Answer:

a = -3 and b = 8

Explanation:

change it into x² + 5x - 24 = 0

then think two number which:

if we add both off them the result will be +5 and

if we multiply them, the result is -24

so i came with +8 and -3

then the quadratic equation can change form into

(x-3)(x+8) = 0

so a = -3 and b is 8

Answer:

a = -3, b = 8

Explanation:

=>
x^2+5x-24=0

Using mid-term break formula

=>
x^2+8x-3x-24 = 0

=> x(x+8)-3(x+8) = 0

=> (x-3)(x+8) = 0

Comparing it with (x+a)(x+b) = 0

We get , a = -3, b = 8
