1. A challenging final exam yields the following results: 10, 15, 20, 20, 25, 25, 25, 30, 30, 100. Which type of measure would best represent the center of the results and what is its value? (2 points)

Answer:

And we want to find the best represent the center of the results and for this case we can see the range given by:


Range = Max -Min = 100-10=90

And if we find the mean we got:


\bar X = (\sum_(i=1)^n X_i)/(n) =30

But since the range is a large value it's better to use the median as a central measure tendency and we got:


Median = (25+25)/(2)=25

And this would be the best measure of centra tendency for this case
