Spiritual leadership involves being leader of religious services, being a teacher, creator and leader of religious programs, and articulating a vision for the congregation.
The pastoral role involves pastoral counseling, bereavement counseling, performing weddings and funerals, and similar roles.
The third role, that of administrator, will be explained in more detail. The Minister is a facilitative administrator in most areas of his work. This means the Minister will:
Help facilitate the work of the duly-elected leaders of the congregation in running the church.
Help church leaders define and create processes that aid church work and governance.
Help people be more effective leaders
Encourage the idea that the responsibility of leading the church rests with the members themselves.
Engage in conflict resolution and consensus building among persons, groups,
committees, and groups within committees, about issues needing this service.
