Explanation:

Given that AB = AD then Δ ABD is isosceles and the base angles are congruent, that is

∠ ABD = ∠ ADB = 35°

The sum of the 3 angles in the triangle = 180°, that is

x + 35° + 35° = 180°

x + 70° = 180° ( subtract 70° from both sides )

x = 110°
