Answer:

For mean

To show the mean of height measures for 40 students, you need to write-out exactly 40 heights into a calculator and add them up.

Then divide that total number by 40.

Explanation:

Eg for 4 students

5 , 5.1, 5.2, 5.7 = 21ft

21/4 = 5.25ft.

Apply the same method but use 40 measures in addition for calulator or long addition. Then divide by 40.

An estimate for the mean height of the students would be; 129.3 cm.

What is the estimate for the mean?

Mean is the average of values gotten by summing up individual values and dividing by the total number. The estimate for the mean of the height of the students would be obtained by summing up the values of the mean and dividing by the total number of students.

This gives us;

= (122 * 7) + (126 * 8) + (130 * 13) + (134 * 9) + (138 * 3)/40

= 854 + 1008 + 1690 + 1206 + 1414/40

= 5172/40

= 129.3 cm.

So, an estimate for the mean height of the students would be 129.3 cm.
