A local car dealer has 150 cars on the lot. 30% of the cars are sedans. How many of the cars are NOT sedans?

Answer:

The answer is 105

So that 30% of those cars are 45 Sedans of the 150 cars.

Now we need to find out how many cars are in that remaining 70%

In order to do this we need to subtract 45 from 150

So 150 minus 45 is 105

Finally, we know that that remaining 70% is 105 cars that aren't Sedans.

So 105 cars are not Sedans.

Explanation:

150cars=100%

and if 30% of the cars are sedans then the cars which are not sedans is

100%-30% =70%

if 150 cars=100%

? cars=70%

if less more devides

70%/100%×150cars

all zeros cancel which would be left with

7× 15

105 cars.
