For perpendicular lines they have gradients which are recipricol to one another and -ve

E.g 1/3 gradient of perpendicular line is-3

Gradient of the perpendicular line is 3

Y-2/x--4=3

Y-2=3(x+4)

Y-2=3x+12

Y=3x+12+2

Y=3x+14
