Equivalent expression of 7(7-9) is 7*7 - 7*9

and solution is - 14

Explanation:

Distributive property is one in which multiplying a sum of numbers with a particular numbers will give same result as multiplying each term term from sum individually with the particular number and then adding it together.

Example

a(x+y) = ax + ay

here either we first add x and y then multiply it with a

we multiply a with x and a with y individually and then add them, both will give the same result.

7(7-9) = 7*7 - 7*9

Thus,

equivalent expression of 7(7-9) is 7*7 - 7*9

solving

7*7 - 7*9 = 49 - 63 = -14
