Answer:
z=42
Explanation:
-7=z/-6
The way I learned in school, is the 'butterfly method'. First, you make -7, -7/1 (same number, just different way of writing it). Then put it side by side with z/-6.
-7/1=z/-6 . I know, i know it looks scary here, but write it in the regular division format with -7 above 1 as z is above -6 in the photo, and it looks easier. Then we will 'butterfly' multiply! This just means we multiply diagonally. For example, if -7 is the numerator on the left side, and -6 is the denominator on the right side, they will be multiplied together. -7 multiplied by -6 is 42. Remember the negative cancels out if it is multiplied by another negative!!!
Then we 'butterfly' multiply again, this time with the 1 as the denominator on the left side and the z as the numerator on the right side. 1 multiplied by z is, well, z!
So then we get 42=z.
May be a bit confusing, but if you write it down, I promise it's quite simple! Hope this helps! :)
