How many 1/2’s are in 5 and 3/4’s

11 and a 1/2

Explanation:

I'm not sure if this is correct but here is my reasoning....

per every 1 there are two 1/2's so multiply 5x2 to get 10.

next, 1/2 is equivelent to 2/4 so subtract 3/4-2/4 (adding another 1/2 to our previous answer of 10 to get 11) and you have 1/4 left.

lastly, since 1/4 is half of 1/2, add 1/2 to 11 to get the final answer of 11 and a 1/2.

there are 11 and a half 1/2's in 5 and 3/4.
