In most developing countries, the empirical studies show that there is extreme inequality in the distribution of education. A small section of the population is very highly educated and the majority of the population has practically no education at all. India is a good example of this phenomenon, South Korea is an exception. Discuss the possible reasons of educational inequalities and also suggest changes in education policy that may achieve a more equitable distribution of education. g

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The possible reasons for educational inequalities are poverty and the lack of opportunities in developing countries such as the above-mentioned and most of the Latin American countries too.

Some valid changes in education policy that may achieve a more equitable distribution of education in those countries are the resolving of poverty and corruption issues that impede children and young people to attend school.

Poverty, because their families are so poor that they need to work in order to help the father to get the money to make a living. They live on a daily basis. More than living, they are surviving. That is why kids drop school and help the father to get the money.

Corruption, because many public education unions and public education officials steal the money that has to be invested in better school maintenance, infrastructure, and the continuing education of teachers to improve the quality of education.
