x = -7 and y=8

Explanation:

soln

using by elimination method

1|x+2y=9

1| x+y=1

|x+2y=9

-|x+y=1

x-x+2y-y=9-1

0+y=8

y=8

1|x+2y=9

2|x+y=1

|x+2y=9

-|2x+2y=2

x-2x+2y+2y=9-2

-x=7

divide -1 both side with the make value of x

x=-7

therefore x=-7 and y=8. this is my answer
