The actual pressure is 100% of x

The pressure is showing 8% more

So the pressure showing now is the actual pressure + the extra pressure

= 100%+8% = 108%

= 108/100

So the equation is:

108x = 3942

x= 3942/108

= 36.5

Therefore the actual pressure is 36.5
