Lets find the area of the triangle.

the formula to find the area of the triangle is 1/2 x base x height

The height is found if you subtract the square of 5 from the square of 4.

5^2 - 4^2 = 9

the square root of 9 is 3.

1/2 x 8 x 3 = 12 cm^2

lets find the area of the rectangle

length x width

8 x 4.5 = 36 cm^2

then subtract the area of the circle from the area of the rectangle and then add the area of the triangle

36 - 0.785 + 12 = 47.215 (round it off to 47)
