Answer:

l = ( 2√3 + 1 ) m

Explanation:

A = l²√3/4

3√3 = l²√3/4

12√3 = l²√3

l² = √12

l² = √2²·3

l = 2√3 m

when the length of each side increases by 1 meter

l = ( 2√3 + 1 ) m

Answer:

5.5 m

Explanation:

  • note: it is assumed that the area increased by 3√3 sq. meter when length of each side increases by 1 meter

The area of equilateral triangle formula:

  • A=√3/4a²

increased area:

√3/4(a+1)²= A + 3√3

  • √3/4a²+3√3= √3/4(a+1)² ========= (× 4/√3 each side)
  • a²+12=a²+2a+1
  • 2a=12-1
  • a=11/2 m
  • a=5.5 m
