0 = 4(x - 3)^2 - 16

Add 16 to each side

0+16 = 4(x - 3)^2 - 16+16

16 = 4(x - 3)^2

Divide each side by 4

16/4 = (x-3)^2

4 = (x-3)^2

Take the square root of each side

±sqrt(4) = sqrt( (x-3)^2)

±2 = (x-3)

Add 3 to each side

3±2 = x-3+3

3+2 =x so x=5

3-2 =x so x=1
