Answer:

(- 2, 0 )

Explanation:

Given

y = 2x² + 2x - 4

To find the x- intercepts let y = 0, that is

2x² + 2x - 4 = 0 ( divide through by 2 )

x² + x - 2 = 0 ← in standard form

(x + 2)(x - 1) = 0 ← in factored form

Equate each factor to zero and solve for x

x + 2 = 0 ⇒ x = - 2

x - 1 = 0 ⇒ x = 1

x- intercepts are x = - 2, x = 1, that is

(1, 0 ) and (- 2, 0 )

The other x- intercept is (- 2, 0 )
